Fully booked, join waiting list

Recreational gymnastics class for children currently attending school and in Primary 4 to Primary 7.

If your child is not yet in school, have a look at our GymBuds classes for 3 - 5 year olds. If your child is in P3 or below, we offer a range of other recreational classes for different age groups and school years.

Class Activities

Coaches will lead children through a variety of warm-up activities including games, stretching, basic shapes or strength work. The class will then move onto skill and apparatus work, with lesson plans varying every few weeks to ensure children receive a well rounded experience of the sport and get the opportunity to develop their skills in lots of different activities.

Gymnastics not only develops skills specific to our sport such as handstands, cartwheels and somersaults, but also teaches the fundamental movement patterns that are essential for a majority of sports. Gymnastics is the perfect activity to set children up for their future sporting endeavours.

How to Book

Choose the relevant membership plan, depending on the number of classes you would like to book.

For example, if you would like to book one child into one class per week, choose the Preschool & Recreational Membership - 1 x class plan. If you would like to booking more than one class per week for one child, have a look at our other membership plans.

For siblings attending one class each per week, you will need to purchase one plan for each child.

If you're not sure which plan is right for you, or you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us here.

Want to Try a Class First?

Not sure if your child will take to gymnastics, or looking for a new activity to try? Why not book a taster class first to see how they get on. If they want to continue, you can book in for the rest of the term, and if they decide gymnastics is not for them, there is no commitment to continue.

To book a taster session, select the Taster membership plan and then book into your chosen activity. If your child then wants to continue with the class, set up the relevant membership plan and book them into their new class again.

Preparing for Your First Class

Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your child's class and wait in the foyer.

There is a waiting area where you can watch your child's class if you'd like, or you can drop them off, leave once the class has started and return for pick up. When it's time to start, our coaches will call the children over and bring them into the gym.

What to Wear

Children should wear comfortable, sports-appropriate clothing such as leggings, joggers or shorts and a t-shirt, top or jumper. We do not recommend denim, dresses, skirts, tights or any clothing with sharp parts such as studs, which could cause injury or damage to equipment. If your child would like to wear a leotard, they are more than welcome to. We have a range of club kit including leotards and shorts available to buy in our online shop, just ask at class for more details.

Jewellery

Please make sure your child does not wear any jewellery to class. If your child has recently had their ears pierced, these must be covered with tape or plasters. Your child will not be allowed to use the foam pits if they are wearing earrings, even if they are taped, for their safety.

What to Bring

Children don't need to bring anything with them to participate in their class, but you may want to give them a drink in case they get thirsty during class. Please do not bring any valuables to class. We provide an area for children to store their shoes, clothes and drink but we cannot be held responsible for any items that are lost or stolen.

NatGap Awards Scheme

You may see some children bringing a booklet to their gymnastics class now and again. Children will work through the NatGap Awards Scheme skills every week at our classes, with regular assessments held throughout the year where any skills achieved can be ticked off in each child's NatGap book. Once a child has completed a level, they can purchase a medal and progress to the next level.

There is no requirement to participate, but we think it's a fantastic way for you and your child to keep track of their progress and for children to earn rewards for their hard work.

If you would like more information on the awards scheme, or to purchase a book, please feel free to speak to your child's coaches at their next class.

Membership Plans

Hamilton Gymnastics Club class fees are cover by a cost effective monthly membership plan which conveniently spreads the cost of all regular weekly classes delivered throughout the year (excluding camps and any other pay as you go, irregular or one-off activities).

Provided you maintain your monthly membership payments, no further fees will be due for regular classes and you will automatically be re-booked into the next term without the need to re-enter your payment details. We will send out term dates in advance of each new term. You can check your bookings in the Clubright app or website, by clicking on 'My Bookings' in your child's profile. You can also check when classes are running in our schedule by clicking on 'Activity Calendar' in your child's profile.

Membership payments are taken via direct debit on the 1st of every month. Please note that in order to pass on these savings, your subscriptions are payable during school holiday months where no lessons are taking place. Should you wish to cancel your membership, we require a minimum of 4 weeks notice in writing (via email) to break the contract with Hamilton Gymnastics Club. Please see the cancellation policy below for more details.

New members may attend a maximum of 2 classes before they must register for this membership.
